Never Change

November 10, 2008

He says, "I'll never change." "I'm not going to change." "You married me - deal with it." How many times do I have to hear those words before I give up hoping he'll stop poisoning himself? 100 times?

If so, he says that at least five times during an argument. We've been arguing every couple or three days for the past two weeks. So he's already about 25% of the way to that arbitrary number.

He tells me "I won't change" A LOT. Am I willing to leave within the next 6 weeks? I'm ready to leave NOW, but I have no way. No way YET. But the path is clearing.

I guess he's got until I've got a better plan or 6 weeks to get a clue. Actually, he's probably got until he returns from [where he deployed] to get a clue. If he can show me legitimate change or the desire to change by his return from [there], I'm willing to work WITH him to save our marriage. I'm not going to work by myself anymore.

I'm in protection mode right now.
